Iidu Tikkanen (born 1983 in Jyväskylä, Finland) currently lives and works in Tampere, Finland.
The central themes of Tikkanen’s artistic work emerge from contemplations on history, memory and endings. For her the act of painting is to make visible the invisible interconnecting structures of the multisensory world. Her practice is based on painting, but she uses multidisciplinary methods for exploring the boundaries of the medium, and the lovely oddities of human existence.
Tikkanen graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 2014 with a Master’s degree. She has taken part in group exhibitions and has held several solo exhibitions in Finland and abroad.
