Iidu Tikkanen (born 1983 in Jyväskylä, Finland) currently lives and works in Helsinki, Finland. The central theme of Tikkanen’s artistic work is the concept of perception and how we understand and experience the world. Her works have a strong basis on painting, but she uses multidisciplinary methods for exploring conceptual frameworks overlapping the human existence. She is particularly interested in rituals and science, the two sides of a same coin. Tikkanen graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 2014 with a Master’s degree. She has taken part in group exhibitions in Finland, Germany and US, and has held several solo exhibitions in Finland.
